The Camelot open plays by the
USGA rules of golf.
Additional rules for the Camelot open:
- If you do not play on the day of the scheduled round you are not eligible
to win the Closest to the Pin or Long Drive competitions for
that round.
- All players must play the final round before or during the scheduled
day. Anything after this date will not be accepted. (All prizes will be
awarded at the party following the final round)
- There will not be a stroke and distance penalty for lost balls or
out-of-bounds (white stakes) only a stroke penalty. Go to where your ball
went out or was lost and drop there. There will be a 3 minute time limit
for looking for your ball. If you do not find it you must drop as close to
where you think it landed incurring a 1 stroke penalty. (this is done to
save time)
- Slow play will not be tolerated. If your group falls behind by a hole
you must play ready golf until you catch up (when you get to your ball you
hit when ready). If you are found to be a constant violator of slow play you
will be forced to take a "Play fast golf" lesson from me.
Common rules to pay attention to:
- NO GIMMIES!!
- If you are in a hazard (sand trap, water, or marked areas with red or
yellow) you cannot ground your club or remove anything from the hazard. Such
as rocks or leaves.
- If you hit another person's ball on the green while you are putting you
get a 2 stroke penalty. You must ask them to mark their ball if you think you
might hit it.
- It's a stroke penalty for teeing and hitting from in front of the tees
on the tee box. (Gil)
- Rule for moving your mark for another player. If your ball is in the way
of another players line you must mark your ball then move your mark. Do not
measure from your ball then place your mark. This is a stroke penalty.
Any disputes will be reviewed by players using the USGA rules and a final
ruling will be made by me unless I'm involved in the dispute. If I am involved
Bruce Cavanaugh will be the final decision maker.
